Using the horizon as a point of departure in to the reflective mindset, this work focuses on how a particular, physical place can have a lasting existence in one's mind. The map that this work takes its form from is a neighborhood of San Diego whereI grew up as a child. This was a memorable place for it was the location where a traumatic family event took place. To understand this event better, I constructed this work to contemplate and meditate on how specific events define one's identity.
